| About... | Genral information Hi to all of you! Nice to have you here on my site. For all those who have never been involved with flight simulation or virtual airlines I will give a quick explanation what you will find on my pages. Well, I like flightsimulation and the most popular flightsimulation software has been created by Microsoft, whether you like the company or not. It's name is MS Flightsimulator XY. I'm using the civil version (FS9). I think millions of people around the globe are using this software. You can play it alone at your home computer or sharing your hobby with other people via the world widw web. There are a lot of of virtual airlines (VAs) which are offering many different "jobs". So if you are a member of a VA, you can download the special scenery addons, aircrafts and missions which are created by the people who are running the VA. After you have installed the neccessary files you can fly "your job". There are uncountable variations of jobs offered by the differet VAs. You will find anything of your taste In most cases you have to transmit what we call a PIREP (Pilot Report). This example is what we have to transmit to the VA BozAir or Fox River Helicopter , which I joint because of the funny guys who keep it running.
The "Comments" part is the "fun part" of the PIREP, because you can create your own kind of story (based on the the given mission file). For me it's a kind of tribiute to the people who spend hours and hours to entertain us by creating that stuff we just have to download. But most of all I like to create this stories - unfortunatly I do not have always the time to finish what my brain is breeding out. So I have to sent the "dry" pirep without the comment, to keep on flying further missions. You see. If you just want to fly without "wasting" time for a big story - do it! But it's much more fun to bringt it to life with your own style of stories. Some VAs have a bunch of rules to follow, some don't. It's your choise. I hope all of you which never heard about VAs can imagin what we are doing here. It's just a sketch about what the VAs are. If you now are interested to get more information take a look to the links I released on the Virtual Airlines page or take a look on the web. For all those, who are "professionals" please remember, it's just a sketch for those who have never been faced with VAs. If you want me to create a link to your site send me a message . I will check every hint and decide whom to release. This site will grow constantly, because of the added new PIREPs. So that's enough! Have fun while dicovering my pages Any response good or bad is appreciated. All the best Tommy |

| About me Name: Tommy "Storyboard" Gorba Country: Germany I have been a "Flightsimmer" since FS5 Always looking for Helicopters to fly, but in the 'early days' it wasn't much fun for me to fly it. Caused by two things: 1.) The aircraft itself was nearly not flyable 2.) My computer and the connected hardware was not able to handle the whole simmer software. It took me a long time before I detected a virtual Helicopter Flight School called HoverSafe Academy at which I could get a "solid" training to keep a virtual heli flying to where I WANTED IT TOO!!!! Then I looked around to find a VA which fits to me and found a very warm welcome at Fox River Helicopters and later on at BozAir. Every guy there helped me through my problems and over the years I made some dear friendships with some of them. But that's everybodys own choice. May those of you who are searching, find a VA of their choice. But never forget: It should be for fun and not to get a further job to get stressed with!! |
